A Positive Approach

Living with Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, any Chronic Illness is challenging. Still, each day has the potential for great joy! When I moved to Ohio around 11 years ago my life changed so quickly and so completely it was unrecognizable.

This most recent move again brought to light how much my life has changed. I have to move slower. In trying to unpack and put my place together quickly I ended up on the couch or in bed for two weeks flaring like crazy.

Recently though I have started giving back again. I’m volunteering at a local church. I’m getting involved in my community. In small ways. When I come home after helping for a few hours I’m tired and achy but I’m happy and feel more satisfied. More myself.

For the first time in years, I have a garden apartment. So I’ve got my flowers in the soil as well as in pots. My windchimes hanging and slowly but surely it’s starting to look more and more like a home. My cats have found their new areas and are settling in as well.

I find I’m moving more  ~ doing yoga and tai chi slowly but surely and feeling so much better.

I haven’t made any big changes in my life. However the impact in how I feel, my attitude is tremendous. What do you find keeps your spirits up? Helps you feel you most like your authentic self?
