Daily Life Choices

I am not a competitive person. I honestly believe that the only competition that counts is the one where I improve. I’ve only been the only one I needed to beat.

Now that my Psoriatic Arthritis is truly throughout my body and Fibromyalgia is limiting my actions ~ I had to take a step to the side. I needed to take a long hard look at what was important and how my life would progress. I refuse to be one of those people that pities themselves! I choose to find the good in every situation. Take positive steps each day to make my life as good as it can be.

Each day I wake up and that’s a gift. I have lost way too many people in my life not to realize this.

Pray ~ I say a prayer first thing in the morning and right before bed to thank God for all that I have. Family, friends, cats, another beautiful day, starry skies, etc.

I take a few minutes as I start and end each day to think of the people and events I am thankful for. This also helps me when I’m down or feeling anxious

No matter what is going on that day there is beauty and goodness all around.

Mindfulness ~ I do my best not to get caught up in looking back or forward. Each moment is so precious!

Random Acts of Kindness ~ Each day is a new opportunity. There are so many different ways to help out others. I have found that doing this helps me to stay positive too.  Pay the toll for the person behind you on the road, buy or make meals for the homeless and hand them out, donate your time at a shelter or home for the elderly, give of your time either tutoring or helping out in your Church, etc.

Read ~ Take some time to read.  I am a complete bibliophile! When I’m feeling down I find funny offbeat books to help cheer me. I love fiction.  Also reading about people I admire.

Learn Something New Each Day ~ As my Nana always said “No knowledge is ever wasted”

My life has changed so dramatically. Being disabled, living with Chronic Pain and Illness, is a part of it but everyone has challenges. I’m a writer now! This is something I had considered in the past but was too busy and honestly, I told myself I couldn’t do it.

What do you do to make your life better??
