I read a study that the brain is the strongest muscle in the body. I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember where. Whatever you tell yourself mentally comes to be the truth. This is why retaining a positive outlook is so vitally important.
Living with Fibromyalgia and Psoriatic Arthritis can be extremely challenging. There are times I’m in so much pain I can’t even think. On those days I hang out in bed and read, binge-watch Netflix and/or DVDs from the library.
As a rule, though I have a pretty full life. Yes, it’s dramatically different than the one I lived before but that doesn’t dimish it in any way. I love my life! In this life, I’m a writer. Before I was a teacher and a student.I live much more mindfully and enjoying each moment.
Stress is such a HUGE factor in chronic illness. Life is busy and stressful and crazy, Not to mention wonderful, fun, joyful. I believe that a person’s home should be their sanctuary from the craziness.
My home is a complete reflection of me and this principle. Each room is elegantly comfortable. There are cat toys in every room and climbing stands in the ones I use the most. My cats bring me joy and peace.
I have live plants throughout my home. I have flowers and plants on my patio as well as windchimes. It’s been proven that live plants not only add oxygen and clean the air in a home but can add to tranquility.
